An E92 M3 Built Around AP Racing Calipers
The white BMW M3 E92 pairs AP Racing calipers with STOPFLEX long-fiber carbon ceramic rotors on both axles. Silver BBS wheels reveal the finished brakes; the wheel-off images show the rotor and caliper relationship without the spokes in the way.
- Front: AP Racing AP9660 6-piston calipers with STOPFLEX 378mm long-fiber carbon ceramic rotors.
- Rear: AP Racing AP9449 4-piston calipers with STOPFLEX 380mm long-fiber carbon ceramic rotors.
The 378mm front specification should not be rounded to 380mm when checking a replacement. Keep each disc size with its AP9660 or AP9449 caliper, pad shape and required hat offset. The slightly larger stated rear diameter alone does not establish braking balance.
STOPFLEX positions continuous long-fiber construction for higher strength and thermal durability. For an AP Racing-equipped M3 intended for repeated hard braking, that is a reason to consider the rotor material alongside its diameter. The rotor grade and ceramic-compatible pad compound still need selecting for the intended duty.
Heat management is the tradeoff to include in that decision. A high-temperature-capable rotor still passes heat into pads, fluid, seals and calipers. STOPFLEX calls for suitable fluid and cooling during sustained hard use. For an owner planning regular circuit sessions, those supporting provisions belong in the brake specification alongside the discs.
Review the AP Caliper Combination
The E9x M3 carbon ceramic rotor listing separates factory-caliper replacements from aftermarket-caliper applications. This AP Racing combination needs a custom review of caliper models, pad shapes, rotor dimensions and offsets. Confirm the wheel spoke profile too; the fitted BBS wheels do not establish clearance for another wheel design.
