On this build the 10-piston front caliper was chosen for its rigidity and how evenly it spreads pad pressure across a very large rotor. Against a typical 6-piston front, the aim is more consistent clamping and cleaner modulation when you load the brakes hard and repeatedly.

Why upgrade the front calipers but keep the factory rears?

The front axle does most of the braking work, so the biggest hardware change goes where it earns the most.
