The rule is simple: front factory calipers must be 4-piston or more; the rear has no limit. A 1- or 2-piston floating front setup cannot take direct-replacement discs — that car needs the Full Upgrade kit with calipers. We build to the factory rotor specs above. Aftermarket calipers (Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, Wilwood) work too — send the caliper model, pad shape, and rotor size for confirmation first.

Spoke profile and offset also affect clearance — confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.

Winter & Cold-Weather Braking

Cold facts first: an untuned ceramic disc bites less than iron on a freezing morning — physics, not a defect. StopFlex tuned both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating for cold starts, so winter cold-car braking now feels very close to summer. Leave extra margin on the very coldest first stops; severe-climate daily drivers should build Street Spec.

Heat Management Note

High rotor temperature tolerance does not mean heat management disappears. Under repeated hard braking, heat migrates into the pads, brake fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels even when the ceramic disc itself is comfortable. Plan brake cooling and high-temperature fluid for extended track sessions, long mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving.

Will these fit my Panamera without changing calipers?

Yes, if your front calipers are 4-piston or more, which covers the factory carbon-ceramic setups on the 976 Panamera, 4, GTS, and E-Hybrid trims. This kit reuses your factory calipers and swaps the rotors, pads, hats, and floating hardware. Match your exact factory rotor size before ordering: front is 360mm on Base/4, 390mm on 4 E-Hybrid/4S E-Hybrid/GTS, and 410mm if you have the PSCB option; rear is 330mm, 365mm, or 380mm respectively. If your car uses a smaller front rotor with a floating single- or two-piston caliper, this direct replacement is not the right part.

How do these behave in winter and cold starts?

Any carbon-ceramic disc bites a little less than iron when it's stone cold. That's physics, not a fault. On this kit we tuned both the low-metallic resin pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating for cold engagement, so the first cold stops on your Panamera feel close to warm summer bite instead of vague and wooden. On the coldest first stop of the day, leave a bit of extra following distance until the rotors take a few applications of heat, then they behave normally.

Does the factory brake pad wear warning still work?

Yes. The Panamera runs electronic pad-wear sensors, and this kit's pads are built to work with that exact OEM wear-sensor system. Your dashboard wear warning keeps functioning correctly with no fault codes or brake warning lights. Nothing about the sensor circuit or the PSM/electronic parking brake behavior changes.
