X5 G05: A Complete Front and Rear Configuration
The white BMW X5 G05 in this case combines different caliper families with STOPFLEX long-fiber carbon ceramic rotors. The photographs show the exposed front assembly, a refitted wheel and a rear assembly with a separate parking-brake unit.
- Front: Akebono 10-piston calipers with STOPFLEX 420mm long-fiber carbon ceramic rotors.
- Rear: Brembo 4-piston calipers with EPB and STOPFLEX 410mm long-fiber carbon ceramic rotors.
The friction pairing deserves as much attention as the piston counts. STOPFLEX specifies ceramic-compatible pads as part of its matched kit, with a pad and coating combination selected for cold response. For an X5 used daily, that is a useful part of the product decision alongside the visible caliper and rotor hardware.
Cold-weather expectations are the tradeoff. STOPFLEX notes that the first cold stops can feel different from warm operation and calls for extra margin in severe conditions. It recommends a Street specification for severe climates; a higher-duty track rotor is not automatically the better choice for a winter commuter.
The rear 410mm rotor and EPB also need to remain in the order specification. The photos show a separate parking-brake unit beside the main caliper. STOPFLEX's related X5 guidance treats brackets, hats, mounting and supporting components as a trim-specific system, so the rear arrangement needs checking with the front package.
Check the Rear Specification Separately
The X5 Akebono kit listing pairs its 420mm front setup with 380mm rear rotors, rather than this case's 410mm rear plus EPB. Confirm the calipers, rear mounting and exact wheel clearance for the requested configuration.
Send your X5 trim, current brake and EPB photographs, plus exact wheel specifications, to review both axles.
