M4 G82: Keep the Calipers, Change the Rotors
This black BMW M4 G82 takes a rotor-focused route: the factory BMW M calipers stay on both axles while STOPFLEX long-fiber carbon ceramic discs replace the friction surfaces. The gallery follows the four-disc display, wheel-off installation and fitted wheel.
- Front: Factory BMW M calipers retained with STOPFLEX 400mm long-fiber carbon ceramic rotors.
- Rear: Factory BMW M calipers retained with STOPFLEX 370mm long-fiber carbon ceramic rotors.
Keeping the calipers makes this a different proposition from buying a complete big brake kit. The existing caliper and its pad interface remain part of the design, so the rotor dimensions and hat offset need to match that brake package. The 400/370mm combination shown here is a specification for this car, not a universal G82 recipe.
A like-sized carbon ceramic rotor can weigh less than an iron disc, according to STOPFLEX; the saving depends on the actual rotor dimensions. That is a useful reason to consider a rotor conversion without replacing the calipers, but these photographs provide no measured weight comparison. The red-backed pads in the display also do not identify the compound ultimately installed.
Match Your Existing M4 Brake Package
The G82/G83 carbon ceramic rotor listing includes several factory-size references. Confirm your current front and rear sizes, caliper type and wheel clearance before selecting the order. Specify ceramic-compatible pads as part of the match; pad choice and operating temperature affect cold initial response.
Send your G82 brake specifications and wheel details to check a retained-caliper carbon ceramic conversion.
