Keep Your Factory Calipers?
The rule is simple: front factory calipers must be 4-piston or more; the rear has no limit. A 1- or 2-piston floating front setup cannot take direct-replacement discs — that car needs the Full Upgrade kit with calipers. We build to the factory rotor specs above. Aftermarket calipers (Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, Wilwood) work too — send the caliper model, pad shape, and rotor size for confirmation first.
Spoke profile and offset also affect clearance — confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

CCB-Specific Pad Compound
A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.
Lower Unsprung Mass
A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.
Winter & Cold-Weather Braking
Winter question, straight answer: untuned ceramic discs bite less when cold. StopFlex optimized the pad compound and the rotor's ceramic coating for cold operation, so cold-start braking in winter feels very close to warm-weather braking. Extra following distance on freezing first stops is still smart; severe-winter daily cars should run Street Spec.

Heat Management Note
Ceramic discs shrug off surface temperatures that would destroy iron, but the rest of the system still heats up: pads, fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels all absorb soak heat during repeated hard stops. For track days, long descents, and sustained hard driving, run brake cooling and high-temperature fluid.

FAQ
Do these fit my 7X if it keeps the factory 4-piston front calipers?
Yes. This is a direct-replacement kit built for the 7X front 380mm and rear 380mm rotor sizes, and it reuses your factory 4-piston front calipers. The kit supplies carbon-ceramic rotors, pads, hats, and floating hardware sized to bolt to those exact calipers. It is only valid on 7X trims running the listed 380mm rotors and a 4-piston (or larger) front caliper. If your car came with a smaller single- or dual-piston front caliper, this page does not fit it.
How do these brakes behave in winter on a cold car?
Physics first: an untuned carbon-ceramic disc bites less than cold iron on the first stop of a freezing morning. That is normal, not a defect. StopFlex tuned both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic surface coating for cold starts, so the first-stop feel on your 7X now comes very close to summer feel. Still, leave a little extra following distance on the coldest first few stops until the front 380mm rotors and pads have seen some load.
Will these clear my wheels? The 7X ships with different wheel sizes.
The 7X is sold globally with 19-inch and 20-inch wheel packages depending on trim and region. Because the rotor stays at the factory 380mm front and rear diameter and reuses your original calipers, any wheel that cleared the factory brakes will clear this kit — the swept diameter and caliper envelope do not change. If you run aftermarket wheels, send us the spec and we will confirm before you buy.
Why replace factory iron rotors with carbon ceramic on the 7X?
The 7X is a heavy dual-motor EV that leans hard on its brakes when you disable or reduce regen for track or spirited driving. Carbon-ceramic rotors cut a large chunk of unsprung and rotating mass at each corner, resist the fade that iron shows under repeated hard stops, and shed almost none of the black dust that coats iron-braked wheels. The matched pad runs a friction coefficient around 0.44 with heat resistance to about 750 °C, so the front 380mm setup holds bite through repeated stops.
