CCB-Specific Pad Compound
A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.
Lower Unsprung Mass
A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.
High-Temperature Stability
The carbon-silicon-carbide friction matrix keeps working at temperatures that push iron rotors into heavy fade, so the tenth hard stop feels like the first — same pedal travel, same bite point.
Rust-Free Rotor Surface

Heat Management Note
High rotor temperature tolerance does not mean heat management disappears. Under repeated hard braking, heat migrates into the pads, brake fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels even when the ceramic disc itself is comfortable. Plan brake cooling and high-temperature fluid for extended track sessions, long mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving.

StopFlex addresses it two ways: the low-metallic resin-composite pad (steel, copper, aramid fiber, ~0.44 average friction) is formulated for early bite, and the disc's ceramic coating is optimized for cold starts. The result is winter cold-car feel that comes very close to summer feel. On the coldest first one or two stops, leave a little extra following distance until everything is warm — good practice on any heavy PHEV like the Touareg R.
My Touareg R has the larger front rotors — will this kit fit?
This page covers the Touareg R (CR) with factory front rotors of either 375mm or 400mm, and 350mm rear. Both front sizes are addressed here, but they are not interchangeable, so we match your exact package before shipping. Send us your VIN or the PR codes off the build sticker so we confirm whether your car left the factory with the 375mm or 400mm front rotor. Ordering the wrong diameter is the single most common fitment mistake on this platform, and VIN verification removes it.
Do I keep my factory calipers and electronic parking brake?
Yes. This is a Direct Replacement kit: carbon-ceramic rotors, matched pads, hats, and floating hardware that reuse your existing Touareg R calipers. Direct Replacement is valid because the front factory calipers on this car are 4-piston, which is the requirement for this approach; the rear is unrestricted. The Touareg R's rear electronic parking brake actuates through the same caliper, so it continues to work normally — no separate parking-brake conversion, no added hardware.
Will these rotors clear my wheels, and is this worth it on a heavy PHEV?
