CCB-Specific Pad Compound

A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.

Lower Unsprung Mass

A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.

High-Temperature Stability

The carbon-silicon-carbide friction matrix keeps working at temperatures that push iron rotors into heavy fade, so the tenth hard stop feels like the first — same pedal travel, same bite point.

Winter & Cold-Weather Braking

Winter question, straight answer: untuned ceramic discs bite less when cold. StopFlex optimized the pad compound and the rotor's ceramic coating for cold operation, so cold-start braking in winter feels very close to warm-weather braking. Extra following distance on freezing first stops is still smart; severe-winter daily cars should run Street Spec.

Heat Management Note

Ceramic discs shrug off surface temperatures that would destroy iron, but the rest of the system still heats up: pads, fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels all absorb soak heat during repeated hard stops. For track days, long descents, and sustained hard driving, run brake cooling and high-temperature fluid.

FAQ

Does this fit my exact Panamera trim, or do I need to check my rotor size first?

You have to match your factory rotor size, because the 970 uses different diameters across trims. Base, 4, Diesel, S, and Hybrid run 360mm front and 330mm rear. The 4S runs 390mm front and 350mm rear. Cars fitted with the factory PCCB option run 410mm front and 350mm rear. This page covers those exact front-and-rear pairings and reuses your factory calipers, so confirm which size is on your car before you order. If you tell us your VIN and trim, we'll match the correct rotor and hat set.

Will my Porsche pad-wear warning still work, or will I get a dash error?

It keeps working. The wear sensors in this kit are built to be 100% compatible with the OEM Panamera wear-sensor system, so the factory pad-wear message on your instrument cluster behaves exactly as it did with the original pads. No workarounds, no resistor tricks, and no fault codes on the dash from the brake circuit.

How do these behave in winter or on a cold start compared to my old brakes?

Straight physics first: a cold carbon-ceramic disc bites a little less than cold iron on the very first stops. That's normal, not a defect. We tuned around it by optimizing both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating specifically for cold starts, so on a cold morning the pedal feel comes very close to warm-summer feel after the first stop or two. On the coldest days, leave a little extra following distance for your first few stops and drive normally after that.

Can I really reuse my factory calipers instead of buying a full big-brake kit?

Yes. This is a direct-replacement disc kit, so it keeps your factory Panamera calipers and just swaps the rotors, hats, floating hardware, and pads. Direct replacement is valid when your front factory calipers are 4-piston or more, which covers the Panamera front setups on this page; the rear has no piston restriction. That's the point of this kit — it solves worn factory carbon-ceramic rotors without the cost of a complete caliper conversion.
