High-Temperature Stability
The carbon-silicon-carbide friction matrix keeps working at temperatures that push iron rotors into heavy fade, so the tenth hard stop feels like the first — same pedal travel, same bite point.
Winter & Cold-Weather Braking
A cold, untuned carbon-ceramic disc needs more pedal than iron on the first winter stops — normal material physics. StopFlex engineered the pad formula and disc coating specifically for cold starts, closing that gap: cold-car winter feel is now very close to summer feel. Heat Management Note
Carbon ceramic rotors tolerate extreme surface temperature, but they do not remove every heat-management requirement. During repeated hard stops, heat still soaks into pads, fluid, seals, calipers, wheels, and nearby components. For long track sessions, mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving, brake cooling and high-temperature fluid are still recommended.

Will this kit fit my exact 991 Carrera, or is it a generic 911 kit?
It's built for your confirmed trim, not the 991 platform in general. Brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting are machined to match your specific car's front knuckles, hub geometry, and wheel clearance. A base Carrera, a Carrera S, and a wide-body car in the 991 family can differ mechanically, so we confirm your VIN and trim before building rather than assuming one bolt-on pattern covers everyone.
What wheel size do I need to run the 420mm front rotors?
The 420mm front rotor and 10-piston Turbo S caliper require a minimum 21-inch wheel. Anything under 21 inches will not clear the caliper, and spoke design matters too — some 21-inch wheels with deep inner spokes can still foul the caliper. Send us your wheel model and we'll verify spoke clearance before you order.
How do these brakes behave in winter or on a cold first drive?
A cold, untuned carbon-ceramic disc bites less than cold iron on the first stop or two — that's normal physics, not a defect. We tune around it: the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating are both optimized for cold starts, so cold-car feel on your 991 comes very close to warm feel. On the coldest mornings, leave a little extra following distance for your first couple of stops until the system is up to temperature.
Will the factory brake-wear warning still work after the upgrade?
Yes. The kit includes pad wear sensors that are fully compatible with the 991's OEM wear-sensor system, so the factory pad-wear warning keeps functioning normally with no dashboard errors. The electric parking brake at the rear also retains its factory operation with this kit.
