The 400 mm rotor sets the minimum wheel size at 20" — smaller wheels will not clear the caliper and rotor. Spoke profile and offset also affect clearance; confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.
Winter & Cold-Weather Braking
Cold facts first: an untuned ceramic disc bites less than iron on a freezing morning — physics, not a defect. StopFlex tuned both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating for cold starts, so winter cold-car braking now feels very close to summer. Front Caliper
The front runs the OEM AMG 6-Piston Caliper clamping a 400mm carbon-ceramic rotor. Six opposed pistons keep pad pressure even across the disc face, so pedal feel stays consistent from the first light stop to repeated highway braking.
Rear Caliper
The rear uses the OEM AMG EPB Single-Piston Caliper on a 380mm carbon-ceramic rotor, adding rear thermal capacity while retaining the factory electronic parking brake function and its auto-hold behavior.

Heat Management Note
High rotor temperature tolerance does not mean heat management disappears. Under repeated hard braking, heat migrates into the pads, brake fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels even when the ceramic disc itself is comfortable. Plan brake cooling and high-temperature fluid for extended track sessions, long mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving.

How do these carbon-ceramic brakes behave on a cold morning in winter?
Physics first: any cold carbon-ceramic disc bites a little less than cold iron on the very first stops. StopFlex addresses this from both sides — the low-metallic resin-composite pad and the disc's ceramic coating are both optimized for cold starts, so cold-car feel comes very close to warm summer feel after the first light application. On the coldest days, leave a little extra following distance for your first one or two stops and the system comes up to temperature quickly.
Will this kit fit my exact Maybach trim, or is it a generic Z223 bolt-on?
It is bespoke-engineered for your confirmed trim, not the platform. The Maybach S580 and S680 share the Z223 name with AMG variants, but front knuckle geometry, hub offsets, and wheel clearance can differ between comfort and performance versions. We match brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting to your specific car, so we never claim a universal Z223 fit.
What wheels do I need to clear these rotors?
The front rotor is 400mm, so 20-inch wheels are the minimum — anything under 20 inches will not clear the disc and caliper. Spoke shape and inner-barrel clearance also matter, so send us your exact wheel details when you confirm fitment.
Does the kit keep my electronic parking brake and auto-hold working?
Yes. The rear uses the OEM AMG EPB Single-Piston Caliper, which retains the factory electromechanical parking brake and auto-hold exactly as designed. There is no workaround or manual conversion — the EPB operates normally after installation.
