Front Caliper
The front runs the Alcon RC6, a 6-piston fixed caliper clamping a 380mm carbon-ceramic rotor. On a car this heavy, the six pistons spread pad pressure evenly for a firm, repeatable pedal instead of the soft, long travel owners notice from worn OE brakes.
Rear Caliper
The rear uses the Alcon RC4, a 4-piston caliper on a 380mm carbon-ceramic rotor for balanced thermal capacity front to back. Because the X222 leaves the factory with an electronic parking brake, the rear is engineered to retain full EPB function.

Heat Management Note
Carbon ceramic rotors tolerate extreme surface temperature, but they do not remove every heat-management requirement. During repeated hard stops, heat still soaks into pads, fluid, seals, calipers, wheels, and nearby components. For long track sessions, mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving, brake cooling and high-temperature fluid are still recommended.

How do these brakes feel on a cold winter morning?
Untuned carbon-ceramic discs bite less than cold iron on the first stops of the day. That is physics, not a fault. We tune both the low-metallic resin-composite pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating for cold starts, so first-stop feel on this Maybach comes very close to warm feel. On the coldest mornings, leave a little extra following distance for the first one or two stops.
Is this kit built for my exact trim, or a generic X222 fit?
It is built for your confirmed trim. The Maybach S-Class and the AMG variants in the X222 family can differ in front knuckles, hub geometry, and wheel clearance, so we match the brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting to your specific car. We do not assume a platform-wide bolt-on.
What wheels do I need to clear these rotors?
The 380mm front and rear rotors require a minimum 19-inch wheel. Anything smaller will not clear the caliper. Spoke shape matters too, so send us your wheel details and we will confirm the Alcon RC6 clears before you order.
How is this different from the ceramic brake kits sold online for the X222?
Most kits marketed to X222 owners are low-dust ceramic pads on cast-iron rotors, not carbon-ceramic. This is a genuine carbon-ceramic system: carbon-ceramic rotors, Alcon calipers, and a matched pad rated to about 750 degrees C with an average friction coefficient near 0.44 and strong anti-fade behavior.
