Will This Fit My Car?

Full Upgrade CCB Big Brake Kits (With Calipers) for the 2013-2020 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class / AMG (R231). This page's exact brake setup:

Model Years Front Setup Rear Setup Min. Wheel Size
2013-2020 AP Racing CP9560 Radi-CAL II 6-Piston Caliper / 380mm AP Racing CP9541 Radi-CAL II 4-Piston Caliper / 380mm 19"

This kit is built per car, not per platform. We engineer the brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting to your confirmed model and trim, because trims sharing a chassis name frequently differ underneath — performance variants can run different knuckles, hub geometry, and wheel ET clearance than their standard siblings. You receive calipers, pads, rotor hats, floating hardware, and brake lines as one matched, trim-specific system. Cars with modified knuckles, uprights, or non-factory suspension mounting points need review before ordering.

The 380 mm rotor sets the minimum wheel size at 19" — smaller wheels will not clear the caliper and rotor. Spoke profile and offset also affect clearance; confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

Why Carbon Ceramic — and Why StopFlex

Short-Fiber or Long-Fiber — Your Call

Every StopFlex disc is true carbon-ceramic. Short-Fiber Street Spec uses a simpler chopped-fiber process for a lower price and street-only duty; the Long-Fiber line uses continuous carbon strands that carry load across the whole rotor for higher strength and thermal durability — the pick for track and race heat.

Bespoke Per-Vehicle Engineering

Every order is machined to the confirmed vehicle and trim. Brackets, hat offsets, and pad shapes are built for that exact car — never pulled from a one-size-fits-all catalog.

CCB-Specific Pad Compound

A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.

Lower Unsprung Mass

A like-size carbon-ceramic rotor can be materially lighter than an iron disc; the exact saving depends on rotor dimensions. Lower rotating, unsprung mass can reduce the load the suspension has to control.

High-Temperature Stability

The carbon-silicon-carbide friction material is selected for high-temperature stability and fade resistance. Overall pedal feel still depends on pad condition, fluid, caliper stiffness, cooling and operating temperature.

Rust-Free Rotor Surface

Ceramic discs cannot flash-rust. After rain, a wash, or weeks of parking, the rotor face behind your open-spoke wheels stays clean — no orange ring on a freshly detailed car.

Long Street-Service Life

In normal road use with matched pads and correct bedding, carbon-ceramic friction surfaces are designed for low wear. Actual service life depends on mileage, contamination, pad choice, heat cycles and driving use.

Low Visible Dust

Matched StopFlex pads are selected for low visible dust on the ceramic friction surface. Actual wheel dust still varies with pad choice, traffic, temperature, bedding and driving intensity.

Premium Ceramic-Glaze Finish

StopFlex's proprietary coating gives the disc a bright ceramic-glaze surface with subtle texture — the factory carbon-ceramic look, clearly visible through open wheel designs.

Winter & Cold-Weather Braking

On a freezing start, carbon-ceramic friction can feel different from warm operation. StopFlex pairs the disc coating with its matched street pad to improve cold response; it is still prudent to leave extra margin for the first stops in severe cold. Use a Street Spec for harsh-winter daily service.

Caliper Overview

Front Caliper

The front upgrade uses the AP Racing CP9560 Radi-CAL II 6-Piston Caliper with a supplied 380mm rotor. This is a full front conversion, not a rotor-only replacement.

Rear Caliper

The rear setup uses the AP Racing CP9541 Radi-CAL II 4-Piston Caliper with a supplied 380mm rotor. Rear mounting and parking-brake integration are confirmed for the exact vehicle configuration before order.

Choose Your Rotor: Short-Fiber Street to Long-Fiber Motorsport

Pick by how you drive and what you want to spend. Street-only and budget-minded: Short-Fiber Street Spec. Premium street, track days, or competition: one of the three Long-Fiber specs, whose continuous carbon strands carry the strength and heat margin that repeated hard braking demands.

StopFlex Short-Fiber Street Spec carbon ceramic brake rotor

Short-Fiber Street Spec

Chopped short-fiber carbon-ceramic body, ceramic coating, cross-drilled face.

Choose this for street-only use when purchase price matters most. It keeps the carbon-ceramic friction surface and coated finish, but it is not specified for track sessions.

StopFlex Long-Fiber Street Spec carbon ceramic brake rotor

Long-Fiber Street Spec

Continuous long-fiber body, ceramic coating, cross-drilled face, large cooling channels.

Choose this for daily and fast-road use when you want the long-fiber construction without moving to a track-focused face and cooling specification.

StopFlex Long-Fiber Track-Day Spec carbon ceramic brake rotor

Long-Fiber Track-Day Spec

Continuous long-fiber body, ceramic coating, blank face, honeycomb cooling channels.

Choose this for repeated fast-road or track-day braking where thermal duty matters more than the drilled street appearance. High-temperature fluid and appropriate cooling still matter.

StopFlex Long-Fiber Motorsport Spec carbon ceramic brake rotor

Long-Fiber Motorsport Spec

Continuous long-fiber body, uncoated blank face, honeycomb cooling channels.

Choose this for competition-focused use with the corresponding pad, fluid, cooling and warm-up strategy. It is not the default recommendation for a street-driven car.

Heat Management Note

High rotor temperature tolerance does not mean heat management disappears. Under repeated hard braking, heat migrates into the pads, brake fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels even when the ceramic disc itself is comfortable. Plan brake cooling and high-temperature fluid for extended track sessions, long mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving.

Get Your Fitment Confirmed

Before ordering, provide the exact vehicle, current rotor sizes, caliper type, and wheel details. Production starts only after the configuration is confirmed; VIN/build data is requested when it is needed to resolve fitment.

FAQ

Will this 380mm kit fit my 2013–2020 R231 SL-Class or AMG?

Fitment is confirmed per exact model and trim, not by R231 chassis designation alone. This full upgrade uses a 380mm front rotor with the AP Racing CP9560 Radi-CAL II 6-Piston Caliper and a 380mm rear rotor with the AP Racing CP9541 Radi-CAL II 4-Piston Caliper. Brackets, hat offsets and caliper mounting are specified only after confirmation.

Which StopFlex carbon-ceramic rotor spec should I choose for an R231 SL or AMG?

Choose Short-Fiber Street Spec for lower-cost street-only use. Long-Fiber Street suits more demanding road use, while Long-Fiber Track-Day and Motorsport are for progressively higher heat and duty requirements. Select based on how the car is actually used; a road-focused SL does not need a motorsport rotor solely because it has a 380mm conversion.

What should I expect from carbon-ceramic brakes in cold or winter driving?

An untuned cold carbon-ceramic disc can have less initial bite than cold iron. StopFlex specifies a matched pad compound and disc coating to reduce that cold-start gap, but the first cold stops still deserve extra margin. Do not expect identical initial response in every winter condition; allow the brakes to come in before demanding use.

Do my wheels and electronic parking brake need to be checked before ordering?

Yes. The 380mm package requires at least a 19-inch wheel, but diameter alone is not enough: wheel spoke profile and offset require physical clearance confirmation. R231 SL models use an electronic parking brake, so rear integration is also confirmed against the exact vehicle configuration before the kit is finalized.
