2006-2013 Mercedes-Benz R350 / R500 / R63 (W251) CCB Big Brake Kit — Genuine Alcon RC6 6-Piston Caliper Front + Genuine Alcon RC4 4-Piston Caliper Rear Setup
The W251 R-Class is a heavy 4MATIC people-and-cargo hauler, and R350, R500 and R63 owners usually shop a carbon-ceramic kit to reduce iron-rotor heat load, brake dust and unsprung mass without giving up a full four-corner brake package. This StopFlex kit uses 380 mm carbon-ceramic rotors with a Genuine Alcon RC6 6-Piston Caliper in front and a Genuine Alcon RC4 4-Piston Caliper in the rear, giving the chassis more thermal capacity and a matched pedal response than a front-only conversion. Every kit is engineered for the customer’s confirmed W251 trim so bracket geometry, rotor-hat offset and caliper placement match the actual car, not just the R-Class platform name.
- 380 mm front and rear carbon-ceramic rotors require 19-inch or larger wheels on the W251 R-Class; spoke clearance must still be checked against the Alcon caliper profile.
- The front axle uses the exact Genuine Alcon RC6 6-Piston Caliper specified for this kit, paired with StopFlex carbon-ceramic rotors, pads, hats, hardware and lines.
- R350, R500 and R63 W251 variants are handled as separate trim confirmations because AMG and non-AMG front knuckles, hub offsets and wheel fitment can differ within the same chassis family.

Every StopFlex kit is bespoke-engineered for your exact model and trim — the brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting are matched to your specific car, not assumed from the platform. This matters because trims that share a chassis name can differ mechanically: a pure M or performance variant often carries different front knuckles/uprights, hub geometry, and wheel axial (ET) clearance than the standard models in the same family, so a bracket and hat offset that bolt onto one are not the same parts that fit the other. StopFlex supplies the calipers, pads, rotor hats, floating hardware, and brake lines as a matched system built to your confirmed trim. Cars with modified knuckles, modified uprights, or non-factory suspension mounting points must be reviewed before ordering and are not treated as direct-fit.
This setup uses a 380 mm front rotor, so the minimum wheel size is 19". Wheels under 19" will not clear the caliper and rotor, and spoke profile and offset affect clearance too — confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

Caliper Overview — Front & Rear Balance
Front Caliper (Primary Upgrade)
The front axle uses the Genuine Alcon RC6 6-Piston Caliper, giving the W251 a stiffer, multi-piston clamp across the pad face for stronger torque control and a more consistent pedal under repeated stops. Alcon is a known motorsport and performance-brake manufacturer, and this genuine caliper is a credible upgrade over a generic cast big-brake caliper. StopFlex matches its mount position to the confirmed R350, R500 or R63 trim so the 380 mm carbon-ceramic rotor and hat offset sit correctly on that exact car.
Rear Caliper (Balance)
The rear axle uses the Genuine Alcon RC4 4-Piston Caliper with a 380 mm carbon-ceramic rotor to keep rear torque contribution in the system instead of leaving the original rear brakes behind. Because the W251 uses a mechanical parking-brake arrangement rather than a rear EPB caliper, parking-brake function is handled separately from the service caliper package.
Front & rear, engineered together: The RC6 front and RC4 rear package is engineered as a four-corner system so rotor diameter, pad selection and caliper placement work together with the R-Class weight distribution. A matched front-and-rear kit avoids the pedal travel, ABS intervention and brake-bias compromises that can come from installing only a large front brake package on a heavy W251.
Make It Yours — Color & Logo Customization
Every StopFlex kit-upgrade order can be finished with custom caliper colors, a custom caliper logo, and custom rotor hat colors, so the brake package matches your exact build instead of a fixed off-the-shelf look.

Why StopFlex CCB
Lower Unsprung Mass
StopFlex carbon-ceramic rotors are engineered to reduce rotor mass versus comparable iron discs, helping the suspension react cleaner and the steering feel more precise.
High-Temperature Stability
The carbon-silicon-carbide matrix is built for stable braking behavior at temperatures that can push iron rotors into heavy fade.
Rust-Free Rotor Surface
Carbon ceramic does not form orange flash rust after rain, washing, or storage, keeping the visible rotor face cleaner behind open wheels.
Long Street-Service Potential
In normal road use with matched pads and proper bedding, StopFlex CCB rotors are designed for far longer service life than typical iron replacement rotors.
Low Visible Dust
When paired with matched StopFlex pads, the system produces very low visible brake dust compared with conventional iron rotor and pad combinations.
Premium Ceramic-Glaze Appearance
StopFlex's proprietary coating creates a bright, high-end ceramic-glaze finish with subtle glaze texture and a more premium visual character behind open wheels.
Street-Usable Cold Bite
Street Spec and Track-Day Spec rotors are designed for normal first-stop road use, including cold-weather operation. Motorsport Spec is the competition-focused exception.
Continuous Fiber Reinforcement
Long-fiber carbon ceramic construction improves structural strength and thermal durability versus chopped-fiber approaches.
Heat Management Note
Carbon ceramic rotors tolerate extreme surface temperature, but they do not remove every heat-management requirement. During repeated hard stops, heat can still soak into pads, fluid, seals, calipers, wheels, and nearby components. For long track sessions, mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving, brake cooling and high-temperature fluid are still recommended.
Street / Track-Day / Motorsport Rotor Options

Street Spec
Ceramic coating, cross-drilled face, and large cooling channels.
Best for daily driving and premium street builds that need clean cold bite, low dust, corrosion-free appearance, and long service life.

Track-Day Spec
Ceramic coating, blank face, and honeycomb cooling channels.
Best for fast-road and track-day use where repeated braking stability matters more than maximum visual drilling style.

Motorsport Spec
Uncoated blank face with honeycomb cooling channels.
Best for race-focused builds that run competition pads, high-temperature fluid, cooling strategy, and a proper warm-up window. Not the default street choice.

FAQ
Will this kit fit my exact R350, R500 or R63 W251?
StopFlex does not treat all W251 R-Class trims as the same fitment. Before production, the exact model, year, trim, hub geometry, caliper mounting and wheel setup are confirmed so brackets, rotor-hat offsets, lines and hardware are built for that car.
What wheel size do I need for the 380 mm kit?
The 380 mm rotor requires 19-inch or larger wheels; wheels under 19 inches will not clear the rotor. Spoke clearance also matters because the Genuine Alcon RC6 6-Piston Caliper has more outward caliper volume than the factory brake package.
Will the parking brake still work?
Yes, the W251 R-Class uses a mechanical parking-brake system rather than an EPB motor integrated into the rear service caliper. StopFlex designs the rear brake package around that architecture so the rear service caliper upgrade does not require deleting a factory EPB caliper.
Why choose carbon-ceramic over another iron big-brake kit on this car?
On a heavy R-Class, carbon-ceramic rotors reduce brake dust and unsprung mass while adding high-temperature stability compared with conventional iron rotors. The payoff is most noticeable on repeated highway stops, mountain use, towing-style heat load and open-wheel builds where dust and rotor appearance matter.
