Bespoke Per-Vehicle Engineering
Every order is machined to the confirmed vehicle and trim. Brackets, hat offsets, and pad shapes are built for that exact car — never pulled from a one-size-fits-all catalog.
CCB-Specific Pad Compound
A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.
Lower Unsprung Mass
A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.
High-Temperature Stability
The carbon-silicon-carbide friction matrix keeps working at temperatures that push iron rotors into heavy fade, so the tenth hard stop feels like the first — same pedal travel, same bite point.

Heat Management Note
Carbon ceramic rotors tolerate extreme surface temperature, but they do not remove every heat-management requirement. During repeated hard stops, heat still soaks into pads, fluid, seals, calipers, wheels, and nearby components. For long track sessions, mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving, brake cooling and high-temperature fluid are still recommended.

It's built for your confirmed trim, not the W166 platform in general. We match the brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting to your specific model — an ML63 AMG can carry different front knuckles, hub geometry, and wheel clearance than a V6 or V8 non-AMG ML. Once you confirm your VIN and trim, the kit is engineered to that car, so we never claim a universal bolt-on.
How do carbon-ceramic brakes behave on a cold winter morning?
Untuned carbon-ceramic discs bite a little less than cold iron on the first stops — that's normal physics, not a defect. We've optimized both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating for cold starts, so cold-car winter feel now comes very close to summer feel. On the coldest first stops of the day, still leave a bit of extra following distance until the system takes heat.
What wheels do I need to clear the 390mm front rotor?
The 390mm front rotor with the AMG 6-piston caliper requires a minimum 20-inch wheel. Anything under 20 inches will not clear the caliper, and spoke design matters too — some 20-inch wheels with deep inner spokes can still foul. Send us your wheel model and we'll confirm clearance before you order.
Does the rear kit keep my electric parking brake working?
Yes. The W166 uses an electromechanical parking brake, and the rear of this kit uses the OEM AMG EPB single-piston caliper so the factory motor and switch operate exactly as before. You get the 345mm carbon-ceramic rear rotor and added heat capacity without losing parking-brake function or throwing dash faults.
