Every StopFlex kit is bespoke-engineered for your exact model and trim — brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting are matched to your specific car, never assumed from the platform. Trims that share a chassis name can differ mechanically: a pure performance variant often carries different knuckles, hub geometry, and wheel ET clearance than the standard models, so parts that bolt onto one are not the parts that fit the other. Calipers, pads, rotor hats, floating hardware, and brake lines ship as one matched system built to your confirmed trim. Modified knuckles, uprights, or non-factory suspension mounting points must be reviewed before ordering.

The 380 mm rotor sets the minimum wheel size at 19" — smaller wheels will not clear the caliper and rotor. Spoke profile and offset also affect clearance; confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

The carbon-silicon-carbide friction matrix keeps working at temperatures that push iron rotors into heavy fade, so the tenth hard stop feels like the first — same pedal travel, same bite point.

Rust-Free Rotor Surface

Ceramic discs cannot flash-rust. After rain, a wash, or weeks of parking, the rotor face behind your open-spoke wheels stays clean — no orange ring on a freshly detailed car.

Long Street-Service Life

In normal road use with matched pads and correct bedding, one StopFlex CCB rotor set is engineered to outlast several sets of iron replacement rotors, recovering part of the up-front cost.

Bespoke Per-Vehicle Engineering

CCB-Specific Pad Compound

A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.

Lower Unsprung Mass

A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.

Winter & Cold-Weather Braking

Winter question, straight answer: untuned ceramic discs bite less when cold. StopFlex optimized the pad compound and the rotor's ceramic coating for cold operation, so cold-start braking in winter feels very close to warm-weather braking. Extra following distance on freezing first stops is still smart; severe-winter daily cars should run Street Spec.

Front Caliper

The front uses the Brembo V6 / GT6 / GTS6 6-piston caliper on a 380 mm rotor; you choose among the OEM Cadillac CTS-V V6, the GT | M6, or the GT | S6 option. All three are stiff-body 6-piston designs that hold pedal firm and clamping even as front rotor temps climb during repeated stops.

Rear Caliper

The rear pairs a Brembo V4 / GT4 / GTS4 4-piston caliper with a 380 mm rotor for balanced thermal capacity front to rear. Choose the OEM CTS-V V4, the GT | M4, or the GT | S4 to match your front selection.

Best for race-focused builds that run competition pads, high-temperature fluid, cooling strategy, and a proper warm-up window. Not the default street choice.

Heat Management Note

Carbon ceramic rotors tolerate extreme surface temperature, but they do not remove every heat-management requirement. During repeated hard stops, heat still soaks into pads, fluid, seals, calipers, wheels, and nearby components. For long track sessions, mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving, brake cooling and high-temperature fluid are still recommended.

FAQ

Will this fit my exact CLA trim?

Each kit is engineered for your confirmed trim, not the C117 chassis in general. A CLA45 AMG uses different front knuckles, hub geometry, and wheel clearance than a CLA180/200/250, so the brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting are cut for the car you actually have. We confirm your trim and wheel spec before building. We do not make a platform-wide bolt-on claim.

What wheels do I need to clear the 380 mm front rotor?

The 380 mm front rotor and 6-piston caliper require a minimum 19-inch wheel. Diameter alone isn't enough; spoke profile and barrel clearance matter too, so send us your exact wheel details and we'll verify caliper clearance before shipping.

How do these brakes behave in winter and on cold starts?

A cold carbon-ceramic disc naturally bites less than cold iron on the first stops. That's physics, not a fault. We tuned both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating for cold engagement, so cold-car feel now comes very close to a warm summer stop. Still, leave a little extra following distance on the coldest first stops until the system is up to temperature.

Does this work with the CLA's electronic parking brake?

Yes. The C117 CLA uses a factory electronic parking brake, and the rear V4 / GT4 / GTS4 caliper option is set up to retain EPB function. Your rear selection is matched to keep the parking brake working correctly with the new 380 mm rear rotor.
