Keep Your Factory Calipers?

Yes — if your front factory calipers are fixed 4-piston or more. The rear axle has no restriction. Cars with 1- or 2-piston floating front calipers should use the Full Upgrade kit (calipers + discs) instead. Discs are built to the factory rotor specs shown above; if you run aftermarket calipers (Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, Wilwood), we simply confirm the caliper model, pad shape, and rotor dimensions before production.

Spoke profile and offset also affect clearance — confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

CCB-Specific Pad Compound

A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.

Lower Unsprung Mass

A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.

Winter & Cold-Weather Braking

Cold facts first: an untuned ceramic disc bites less than iron on a freezing morning — physics, not a defect. StopFlex tuned both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating for cold starts, so winter cold-car braking now feels very close to summer. Leave extra margin on the very coldest first stops; severe-climate daily drivers should build Street Spec.

Heat Management Note

Ceramic discs shrug off surface temperatures that would destroy iron, but the rest of the system still heats up: pads, fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels all absorb soak heat during repeated hard stops. For track days, long descents, and sustained hard driving, run brake cooling and high-temperature fluid.

FAQ

Will this fit my Challenger if it has the smaller factory brakes?

This page only fits 3rd Gen Challengers running the 392mm front / 350mm rear factory rotor package — the R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat Brembo setup. Direct Replacement reuses your factory front calipers, so those calipers must be 4-piston or larger, which the Brembo fronts on these trims are. If your car has smaller single-piston or dual-piston front calipers, this kit is not compatible. Confirm your exact front rotor size and caliper before ordering.

How do these carbon ceramic rotors behave in winter or on a cold start?

Physics first: a cold carbon-ceramic disc bites less than cold iron on the very first stop — that's normal, not a defect. On this Challenger we've tuned both sides of the system for it: the low-metallic resin-composite pad and the disc's ceramic coating are optimized for cold engagement, so first-stop feel from a cold garage now comes very close to summer feel. On the coldest mornings, leave a little extra following distance on your first stop or two and you'll notice the system come up to temperature quickly.

Do I keep my factory calipers and electronic parking brake?

Yes. This is a Direct Replacement kit — the carbon-ceramic rotors, pads, hats, and floating hardware bolt to your existing Brembo front calipers and factory rear caliper. The 350mm rear rotors are sized for the factory rear, including the electronic parking brake function on these trims, so your EPB continues to work as designed. You reuse the calipers you already have.

Why switch to carbon ceramic on a Scat Pack or Hellcat that already stops fine?

The heavy LX-platform Challenger loads the front iron rotors hard on repeated high-speed stops, and the open factory wheels show every bit of iron dust. Carbon-ceramic discs cut a large amount of unsprung and rotating weight at each corner, run far cleaner so your wheels stay dark instead of coated in brown dust, and resist the fade that iron rotors show after back-to-back hard stops. The 392mm front rotor keeps the same footprint your calipers expect.
