Keep Your Factory Calipers?
The rule is simple: front factory calipers must be 4-piston or more; the rear has no limit. A 1- or 2-piston floating front setup cannot take direct-replacement discs — that car needs the Full Upgrade kit with calipers. We build to the factory rotor specs above. Aftermarket calipers (Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, Wilwood) work too — send the caliper model, pad shape, and rotor size for confirmation first.
Spoke profile and offset also affect clearance — confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

Lower Unsprung Mass
A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.
High-Temperature Stability
The carbon-silicon-carbide friction matrix keeps working at temperatures that push iron rotors into heavy fade, so the tenth hard stop feels like the first — same pedal travel, same bite point.
Rust-Free Rotor Surface

Winter & Cold-Weather Braking
Cold facts first: an untuned ceramic disc bites less than iron on a freezing morning — physics, not a defect. StopFlex tuned both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating for cold starts, so winter cold-car braking now feels very close to summer. Leave extra margin on the very coldest first stops; severe-climate daily drivers should build Street Spec.

Heat Management Note
Ceramic discs shrug off surface temperatures that would destroy iron, but the rest of the system still heats up: pads, fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels all absorb soak heat during repeated hard stops. For track days, long descents, and sustained hard driving, run brake cooling and high-temperature fluid.

Will these fit my Camaro without new calipers?
Yes, this is a direct replacement kit that reuses your factory calipers. It ships with carbon-ceramic rotors, pads, hats, and floating hardware sized to bolt onto the stock 6th Gen mounts. Fitment is limited to the exact factory rotor sizes listed for your trim: SS fronts at 345mm or 370mm, LT1 fronts at 345mm, SS rears at 338mm, and LT1 rears at 315mm. Confirm your front rotor diameter before ordering, since SS cars shipped in two front sizes.
How do these behave in winter and on cold first stops?
A cold carbon-ceramic disc naturally bites a little less than cold iron on the first stop or two. That's physics, not a defect. We've tuned both the low-metallic resin-composite pad and the disc's ceramic coating specifically for cold starts, so on a cold Camaro the first-stop feel now comes very close to summer feel. Leave a little extra following distance on the coldest morning stops until the front rotors have taken a few applications of heat.
Does this work with the electronic parking brake on my Camaro?
This kit reuses your factory calipers and rear parking-brake mechanism, so it works with the stock 6th Gen setup as delivered. The SS rear runs the 338mm reference and the LT1 rear runs 315mm; matching your exact rear rotor size keeps the parking-brake function unchanged. Nothing about the rear is restricted for this direct-replacement kit.
Why replace iron with carbon ceramic on an SS that already stops well?
The SS front, especially at the 370mm size, sees repeated high-energy stops at track days that heat-cycle and glaze iron rotors and dump heavy dust on the open-spoke wheels. Carbon-ceramic discs resist that fade, shed far less dust, and cut unsprung and rotating weight at each corner. The paired pad runs an average friction coefficient of about 0.44 and resists fade to roughly 750 °C, so pedal feel stays consistent lap after lap.
