Keep them if the front calipers are fixed 4-piston or more — the rear axle qualifies regardless. Premium Ceramic-Glaze Finish
StopFlex's proprietary coating gives the disc a bright ceramic-glaze surface with subtle texture — the factory carbon-ceramic look, clearly visible through open wheel designs.
Continuous Fiber Construction
StopFlex discs are built with long continuous carbon fiber instead of chopped short fiber. Continuous strands carry load across the whole rotor body, raising strength and thermal durability under heat cycles.
Bespoke Per-Vehicle Engineering

CCB-Specific Pad Compound
A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.
Lower Unsprung Mass
A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.
High-Temperature Stability
The carbon-silicon-carbide friction matrix keeps working at temperatures that push iron rotors into heavy fade, so the tenth hard stop feels like the first — same pedal travel, same bite point.
Rust-Free Rotor Surface
Ceramic discs cannot flash-rust. After rain, a wash, or weeks of parking, the rotor face behind your open-spoke wheels stays clean — no orange ring on a freshly detailed car.

Winter & Cold-Weather Braking
Winter question, straight answer: untuned ceramic discs bite less when cold. StopFlex optimized the pad compound and the rotor's ceramic coating for cold operation, so cold-start braking in winter feels very close to warm-weather braking. Extra following distance on freezing first stops is still smart; severe-winter daily cars should run Street Spec.

Heat Management Note
High rotor temperature tolerance does not mean heat management disappears. Under repeated hard braking, heat migrates into the pads, brake fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels even when the ceramic disc itself is comfortable. Plan brake cooling and high-temperature fluid for extended track sessions, long mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving.

Does this fit my X1 M35i without changing the calipers?
Yes. This is a direct replacement for the U11 X1 M35i that reuses your factory M Compound calipers front and rear. It fits the 360mm or 385mm front rotor and the 330mm rear rotor as delivered on this trim. The M35i front caliper is a fixed multi-piston unit, which is what makes a bolt-in carbon-ceramic swap valid here. It is built for this trim and rotor set only — if your car has a different front rotor diameter than listed, confirm before ordering.
How do these behave in winter and on cold mornings?
Straight physics first: any cold carbon-ceramic disc bites a little less than cold iron until it warms, and that is normal, not a fault. We addressed it two ways for the M35i's daily-driver reality — the low-metallic resin-composite pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating are both tuned for cold starts. The result is that first-stop feel on a cold car now comes very close to warm summer feel. Even so, leave a bit of extra following distance on the first couple of stops on the coldest days.
Will these clear my factory M35i wheels?
The M35i ships on 19-inch M wheels over the perforated factory discs. This kit keeps the same 360/385mm front and 330mm rear rotor footprint, so it clears the stock 19-inch fitment. If you run aftermarket wheels, check inner-barrel and spoke clearance against the caliper and hat assembly before installing, since offset and spoke shape vary by brand.
Is the electronic parking brake still supported?
Yes. The U11 X1 M35i uses an electronic parking brake acting on the rear rotors. This kit retains the factory rear caliper and EPB actuator and supplies a 330mm rear rotor sized for that system, so parking-brake function is unchanged after installation.
