Heat Management Note

Carbon ceramic rotors tolerate extreme surface temperature, but they do not remove every heat-management requirement. During repeated hard stops, heat still soaks into pads, fluid, seals, calipers, wheels, and nearby components. For long track sessions, mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving, brake cooling and high-temperature fluid are still recommended.

How do these carbon ceramic rotors behave in cold winter weather?

Any cold carbon-ceramic disc bites a little less than cold iron on the first stops — that's normal physics, not a fault. We addressed it two ways on this M760Li kit: the low-metallic resin-composite pad (steel, copper, and aramid fiber, ~0.44 average friction) is tuned for early bite, and the disc's ceramic coating is optimized for cold starts. The result is winter cold-car feel that comes very close to summer feel. On the coldest first stops of the day, still leave a little extra following distance until the system is up to temperature.

Can I keep my factory M760Li calipers and electronic parking brake?

Yes. This is a direct replacement — the carbon-ceramic rotors, hats, and floating hardware bolt to your existing front multi-piston calipers and rear calipers, so nothing about your caliper or electronic parking brake wiring changes. You reuse the factory calipers and keep full EPB function. That's the entire point of this kit: full carbon-ceramic hardware without touching the caliper side of the system.

Why go carbon ceramic instead of iron on a car this heavy?

The M760Li puts V12 torque through a long-wheelbase 7 Series body, so the 395mm front rotors take real heat and load on repeated hard stops. Carbon ceramic sheds that heat better, resists fade, cuts a large amount of unsprung and rotating mass versus iron, and produces far less brake dust on the wheels. On a flagship sedan that gets driven hard and cleaned often, those are the differences you actually feel and see.
