About the Disc

2012-2018 BMW M6 (F06/F12/F13) Coupe, Convertible & Gran Coupe Carbon Ceramic Brake Kits

The F06/F12/F13 M6 is a very fast, heavy GT-platform M car, so buyers usually want stronger fade resistance without giving up road manners. On this chassis, the main upgrade questions are 400mm steel-spec vs 410mm CCB-spec front sizing, wheel clearance, and how the car will actually be used.

  • Body style: Coupe, Convertible & Gran Coupe
  • Front rotor reference: M6: 400mm, 410mm(CCB)
  • Rear rotor reference: M6: 396mm

This is an OEM-size replacement kit. The rotors are built to the factory rotor spec and install with the factory caliper when the front caliper is a fixed design and the rotor spec matches. The included pad shape matches the OEM pad shape. If the car uses aftermarket calipers such as Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, or Wilwood, provide the exact caliper model and StopFlex can supply the matching pad shape. Direct replacement is not confirmed if the front caliper is floating, or if the car already runs a non-OEM-offset rotor and the actual rotor dimensions cannot be supplied.

Why StopFlex CCB

Lightweight

Half the Weight, Sharper Handling. StopFlex carbon-ceramic rotors shed roughly half the mass of equivalent iron discs. This massive drop in unsprung weight instantly transforms your chassis, delivering sharper turn-in response and a significantly more refined road feel.

High-Temp Resistance

Minimal Brake Fade at 900°C (1652°F). While traditional iron rotors severely fade under heavy track loads, our CCB matrix holds a stable 0.30μ friction coefficient even at 900°C (1652°F). You get consistent, predictable stopping power when things get dangerously hot.

Corrosion Resistance

100% Rust-Free Durability. Say goodbye to flash rust after a car wash or heavy rain. The carbon-silicon carbide material is naturally impervious to corrosion, ensuring your brake rotors look completely clean and pristine no matter the weather conditions.

Long Lifespan

250,000+ km (155,000+ mi) Lifespan. Iron rotors typically require replacement around 100,000 km (62,000 mi). In normal street driving conditions, a StopFlex CCB rotor can easily last 250,000 to 300,000 km (155,000 to 186,000 mi), effectively outlasting the vehicle itself.

Ultra-Low Dust

Ultra-Low Visible Brake Dust. Heavy black dust destroying your wheel finish is a thing of the past. When paired with our matched StopFlex pads, these rotors generate virtually zero visible brake dust, keeping your premium wheels spotless for much longer.

Premium Visual Finish

Premium Mirror-Like Finish. StopFlex utilizes a patented ceramic formula that cures with a distinct crackle pattern. The surface is machined dead-smooth for high reflectivity, providing a premium aesthetic behind open wheels under the right lighting.

High Normal-Temp Friction

Strong Initial Bite (0.40μ+). With matched StopFlex pads, normal-temperature friction can exceed 0.40μ for a firmer pedal feel and strong initial bite.

Long-Fiber Construction

Continuous Long-Fiber Strength. StopFlex utilizes a continuous long-fiber 3D matrix. This structure is significantly stronger and offers higher thermal conductivity than standard chopped-fiber OEM CCM discs.

Cold First-Stop Confidence

Reliable Cold-Bite at -20°C (-4°F). Coated street rotors still deliver normal first-stop braking at -20°C (-4°F). Uncoated motorsport rotors are the exception.

Important heat note

Carbon ceramic does not shed heat as fast as steel. Long hard driving can heat-soak the rest of the brake system, including fluid, seals, and nearby parts. Unless the car already has strong brake cooling, or you plan to upgrade brake cooling, prolonged aggressive driving is not recommended.

Rotor options

BMW M6 (F06/F12/F13) Coupe, Convertible & Gran Coupe Street Spec carbon ceramic rotor

Street Spec

Ceramic coating + cross-drilled face + large cooling channels.

Street-first M6 owners usually want the smallest correct kit for their existing caliper and wheel package.

BMW M6 (F06/F12/F13) Coupe, Convertible & Gran Coupe Track-Day Spec carbon ceramic rotor

Track-Day Spec

Ceramic coating + blank face + honeycomb cooling channels.

For mixed street and aggressive canyon or occasional track use, the 410mm front setup is the safer pick if your car and wheels support it.

BMW M6 (F06/F12/F13) Coupe, Convertible & Gran Coupe Motorsport Spec carbon ceramic rotor

Motorsport Spec

No coating + blank face + honeycomb cooling channels. Not for normal street use.

For repeated high-speed braking on this heavy platform, choose the largest confirmed-compatible package with proper cooling and pad support.

FAQ

Will a StopFlex carbon ceramic brake kit for the BMW M6 F06/F12/F13 fit my factory calipers, or only aftermarket calipers?

That depends on whether your M6 is built around the 400mm steel front setup or the 410mm carbon-ceramic front setup. On this chassis, order by exact caliper and rotor fitment, not just by model name, and confirm any aftermarket caliper’s offset and thickness requirements before buying.

Which StopFlex size should I choose for my 2012-2018 BMW M6: the standard-size setup or the larger 410mm-style setup?

Use the kit that matches your car’s actual front brake architecture and wheel clearance. The larger 410mm-style front option makes the most sense for harder use, but the correct smaller matched setup is the better order if your current calipers or wheels do not support the larger package.

Is a StopFlex carbon ceramic brake kit a good daily-driver upgrade for the BMW M6, including cold first stops?

Yes, if your priority is cleaner wheels, lower unsprung weight, and strong road braking without turning the car into a track-only setup. Daily-driven buyers should choose the road-biased matched kit and expect some cold-behavior sensitivity to matter more in pad choice and setup than in the M6 platform itself.

Do I need extra brake cooling if I upgrade my BMW M6 to a StopFlex carbon ceramic brake kit for repeated hard driving?

For fast road use, the kit alone is usually enough if the system is sized correctly for the car. For repeated high-speed or track sessions, the M6’s weight and speed make airflow, pad choice, and sustained heat management worth planning at the same time as the ceramic upgrade.
