About the Disc

2014-2018 BMW M3 / Competition (F80) Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit — OEM-Size Replacement

The F80 M3 owner usually arrives here after two problems: 380x30 mm iron front rotors and 370x24 mm rear rotors generating dust and heat on street/track use, or factory 400x38 mm front and 380x28 mm rear M Carbon Ceramic rotors reaching replacement cost. This StopFlex OEM-size kit is built around the exact listed rotor package, with carbon-ceramic rotors, matched pads, hats, and floating hardware for the factory caliper layout. The payoff is lower rotating mass, stable pedal feel through repeated high-speed stops, and wheel fitment confidence when the car is matched to the correct F80 M3 / Competition brake specification.

  • Fits only the listed F80 M3 / Competition rotor references: 380 mm front with 370 mm rear iron-brake sizing, or 400 mm front with 380 mm rear factory CCB sizing.
  • Carbon-ceramic construction targets the F80’s common open-wheel brake complaints: dark iron dust, high rotor temperature after repeated stops, and expensive OEM CCB replacement.
  • Kit includes rotors, pads, hats, and floating hardware, so the friction ring and mounting system are matched instead of mixing carbon-ceramic discs with iron-rotor pad hardware.

Fitment Hard Lines

Field Specification
Vehicle BMW M3 / Competition (F80)
Model years 2014-2018
Front rotor reference M3: 380mm, 400mm (CCB)
Rear rotor reference M3: 370mm, 380mm (CCB)
Page type OEM-size carbon ceramic replacement
Minimum wheel size 19" (for the 380 mm rotor)

For OEM replacement orders, StopFlex builds around the factory rotor specification shown for this vehicle. Front floating-caliper setups require manual review before production. If the car uses aftermarket calipers such as Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, or Wilwood, the order can still be built, but the exact caliper model, pad shape, and rotor dimensions must be confirmed before production.

This setup uses a 380 mm rotor, so the minimum wheel size is 19". Wheels under 19" will not clear the caliper and rotor, and spoke profile and offset affect clearance too — confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

Why StopFlex CCB

Lower Unsprung Mass

StopFlex carbon-ceramic rotors are engineered to reduce rotor mass versus comparable iron discs, helping the suspension react cleaner and the steering feel more precise.

High-Temperature Stability

The carbon-silicon-carbide matrix is built for stable braking behavior at temperatures that can push iron rotors into heavy fade.

Rust-Free Rotor Surface

Carbon ceramic does not form orange flash rust after rain, washing, or storage, keeping the visible rotor face cleaner behind open wheels.

Long Street-Service Potential

In normal road use with matched pads and proper bedding, StopFlex CCB rotors are designed for far longer service life than typical iron replacement rotors.

Low Visible Dust

When paired with matched StopFlex pads, the system produces very low visible brake dust compared with conventional iron rotor and pad combinations.

Premium Ceramic-Glaze Appearance

StopFlex's proprietary coating creates a bright, high-end ceramic-glaze finish with subtle glaze texture and a more premium visual character behind open wheels.

Street-Usable Cold Bite

Street Spec and Track-Day Spec rotors are designed for normal first-stop road use, including cold-weather operation. Motorsport Spec is the competition-focused exception.

Continuous Fiber Reinforcement

Long-fiber carbon ceramic construction improves structural strength and thermal durability versus chopped-fiber approaches.

Custom Rotor Hat Color

Every StopFlex OEM replacement order can be built with a custom rotor hat color, giving the carbon ceramic rotor package a cleaner match with the wheel, body color, and overall build style.

Heat Management Note

Carbon ceramic rotors tolerate extreme surface temperature, but they do not remove every heat-management requirement. During repeated hard stops, heat can still soak into pads, fluid, seals, calipers, wheels, and nearby components. For long track sessions, mountain descents, or sustained aggressive driving, brake cooling and high-temperature fluid are still recommended.

Street / Track-Day / Motorsport Rotor Options

StopFlex Street Spec carbon ceramic brake rotor

Street Spec

Ceramic coating, cross-drilled face, and large cooling channels.

Best for daily driving and premium street builds that need clean cold bite, low dust, corrosion-free appearance, and long service life.

StopFlex Track-Day Spec carbon ceramic brake rotor

Track-Day Spec

Ceramic coating, blank face, and honeycomb cooling channels.

Best for fast-road and track-day use where repeated braking stability matters more than maximum visual drilling style.

StopFlex Motorsport Spec carbon ceramic brake rotor

Motorsport Spec

Uncoated blank face with honeycomb cooling channels.

Best for race-focused builds that run competition pads, high-temperature fluid, cooling strategy, and a proper warm-up window. Not the default street choice.

FAQ

Will this kit fit my 2014-2018 BMW M3 or M3 Competition?

It fits only the exact F80 M3 / Competition brake configuration listed on this page. Confirm your current rotor sizes before ordering: 380 mm front / 370 mm rear for the standard iron-brake setup, or 400 mm front / 380 mm rear for the factory M Carbon Ceramic setup.

Do I need different wheels for the 400 mm front carbon-ceramic setup?

The 400 mm front CCB rotor package requires the wheel clearance used by the factory CCB brake option, typically 19-inch or larger wheels with the correct barrel and spoke clearance. If your F80 is on 18-inch wheels for the 380 mm front setup, verify clearance before moving to any 400 mm front package.

Will the parking brake still work?

Yes, when the rear rotor size and hat are ordered for the correct F80 M3 application, the kit keeps the factory rear parking-brake interface. The rear hat and rotor package must match either the 370 mm rear iron-brake reference or the 380 mm rear CCB reference.

Why replace the factory iron or BMW CCB rotors with StopFlex carbon ceramic?

Compared with iron rotors, carbon ceramic reduces brake dust and rotating mass while improving heat stability during repeated high-speed stops. Compared with dealer replacement of cracked or worn BMW CCB rotors, this kit gives F80 owners a complete rotor, pad, hat, and floating-hardware package built for the listed OEM sizes.
