About the Disc

2017-2026 Audi RS5 / S5 (B9) Sportback, Coupe & Cabriolet Carbon Ceramic Brake Kits

The B9 RS5/S5 range mixes heavy AWD grand-touring use with occasional hard road or track driving, so buyers usually want less front-end mass and more repeatable high-speed braking. On this platform, the main upgrade question is not just carbon ceramic vs iron, but whether your exact car is the S5 350 mm setup, RS5 375 mm iron setup, or RS5 400 mm factory-ceramic setup.

  • Body style: Sportback, Coupe & Cabriolet
  • Front rotor reference: RS5: 375mm, 400mm (CCB); S5: 350mm
  • Rear rotor reference: RS5: 330mm; S5: 330mm

This is an OEM-size replacement kit. The rotors are built to the factory rotor spec and install with the factory caliper when the front caliper is a fixed design and the rotor spec matches. The included pad shape matches the OEM pad shape. If the car uses aftermarket calipers such as Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, or Wilwood, provide the exact caliper model and StopFlex can supply the matching pad shape. Direct replacement is not confirmed if the front caliper is floating, or if the car already runs a non-OEM-offset rotor and the actual rotor dimensions cannot be supplied.

Why StopFlex CCB

Lightweight

Half the Weight, Sharper Handling. StopFlex carbon-ceramic rotors shed roughly half the mass of equivalent iron discs. This massive drop in unsprung weight instantly transforms your chassis, delivering sharper turn-in response and a significantly more refined road feel.

High-Temp Resistance

Minimal Brake Fade at 900°C (1652°F). While traditional iron rotors severely fade under heavy track loads, our CCB matrix holds a stable 0.30μ friction coefficient even at 900°C (1652°F). You get consistent, predictable stopping power when things get dangerously hot.

Corrosion Resistance

100% Rust-Free Durability. Say goodbye to flash rust after a car wash or heavy rain. The carbon-silicon carbide material is naturally impervious to corrosion, ensuring your brake rotors look completely clean and pristine no matter the weather conditions.

Long Lifespan

250,000+ km (155,000+ mi) Lifespan. Iron rotors typically require replacement around 100,000 km (62,000 mi). In normal street driving conditions, a StopFlex CCB rotor can easily last 250,000 to 300,000 km (155,000 to 186,000 mi), effectively outlasting the vehicle itself.

Ultra-Low Dust

Ultra-Low Visible Brake Dust. Heavy black dust destroying your wheel finish is a thing of the past. When paired with our matched StopFlex pads, these rotors generate virtually zero visible brake dust, keeping your premium wheels spotless for much longer.

Premium Visual Finish

Premium Mirror-Like Finish. StopFlex utilizes a patented ceramic formula that cures with a distinct crackle pattern. The surface is machined dead-smooth for high reflectivity, providing a premium aesthetic behind open wheels under the right lighting.

High Normal-Temp Friction

Strong Initial Bite (0.40μ+). With matched StopFlex pads, normal-temperature friction can exceed 0.40μ for a firmer pedal feel and strong initial bite.

Long-Fiber Construction

Continuous Long-Fiber Strength. StopFlex utilizes a continuous long-fiber 3D matrix. This structure is significantly stronger and offers higher thermal conductivity than standard chopped-fiber OEM CCM discs.

Cold First-Stop Confidence

Reliable Cold-Bite at -20°C (-4°F). Coated street rotors still deliver normal first-stop braking at -20°C (-4°F). Uncoated motorsport rotors are the exception.

Important heat note

Carbon ceramic does not shed heat as fast as steel. Long hard driving can heat-soak the rest of the brake system, including fluid, seals, and nearby parts. Unless the car already has strong brake cooling, or you plan to upgrade brake cooling, prolonged aggressive driving is not recommended.

Rotor options

Audi RS5 / S5 (B9) Sportback, Coupe & Cabriolet Street Spec carbon ceramic rotor

Street Spec

Ceramic coating + cross-drilled face + large cooling channels.

For mostly street-driven S5 or RS5 cars, match the kit to your original size unless you specifically need the bigger RS5-based front setup.

Audi RS5 / S5 (B9) Sportback, Coupe & Cabriolet Track-Day Spec carbon ceramic rotor

Track-Day Spec

Ceramic coating + blank face + honeycomb cooling channels.

For mixed street and occasional hard use, the RS5-size setup is the safer choice if your car regularly sees repeated high-speed stops.

Audi RS5 / S5 (B9) Sportback, Coupe & Cabriolet Motorsport Spec carbon ceramic rotor

Motorsport Spec

No coating + blank face + honeycomb cooling channels. Not for normal street use.

For the hardest-use builds, start from the largest compatible package on your exact caliper/upright setup and pair it with proper cooling.

FAQ

Will a StopFlex carbon ceramic brake kit for the Audi RS5 / S5 (B9) work with my factory calipers, or do I need different calipers?

It depends on which B9 brake package your car has now. S5 350 mm, RS5 375 mm iron, and RS5 400 mm ceramic cars do not all share the same front hardware, so the correct StopFlex kit must match your existing caliper setup rather than just the body style.

Which StopFlex size is correct for my Audi RS5 / S5 (B9): S5 350 mm, RS5 375 mm, or RS5 400 mm?

Order by your car’s current factory brake package, not by trim name alone. That matters most on used or modified cars, because some S5s are upgraded to RS5 iron brakes and some RS5s already have the 400 mm ceramic package.

Is a StopFlex carbon ceramic brake kit for the Audi RS5 / S5 (B9) still a good choice for daily street use and cold first stops?

Yes, if your priority is a street-capable upgrade rather than a race-only setup. B9 owners commonly worry about cold bite and noise, so a street-oriented kit choice makes more sense than chasing the most aggressive setup for a commuter car.

Do I need extra cooling if I upgrade my Audi RS5 / S5 (B9) to a StopFlex carbon ceramic brake kit for hard driving or track use?

For fast road use, many owners will be fine without major changes if the rest of the setup is correct. For repeated heavy sessions, especially on tuned S5s or heavier RS5 use, brake cooling and overall heat management are still worth planning because ceramics reduce fade risk but do not remove heat from the system by themselves.
