Keep Your Factory Calipers?
The rule is simple: front factory calipers must be 4-piston or more; the rear has no limit. A 1- or 2-piston floating front setup cannot take direct-replacement discs — that car needs the Full Upgrade kit with calipers. We build to the factory rotor specs above. Aftermarket calipers (Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, Wilwood) work too — send the caliper model, pad shape, and rotor size for confirmation first.
Spoke profile and offset also affect clearance — confirm your exact wheels before ordering.

CCB-Specific Pad Compound
A low-metallic resin pad compound reinforced with steel, copper, and aramid fiber, made for ceramic discs: stable to about 750 °C, roughly 0.44 average friction, strong fade resistance, low rotor wear.
Lower Unsprung Mass
A carbon-ceramic rotor weighs roughly half of the equivalent iron disc. Less rotating, unsprung mass lets the suspension follow broken pavement more cleanly and makes steering response noticeably sharper.
High-Temperature Stability
The carbon-silicon-carbide friction matrix keeps working at temperatures that push iron rotors into heavy fade, so the tenth hard stop feels like the first — same pedal travel, same bite point.
Winter & Cold-Weather Braking
A cold, untuned carbon-ceramic disc needs more pedal than iron on the first winter stops — normal material physics. StopFlex engineered the pad formula and disc coating specifically for cold starts, closing that gap: cold-car winter feel is now very close to summer feel. Keep a little extra distance on the coldest mornings; for harsh winters, choose Street Spec.

Heat Management Note
Ceramic discs shrug off surface temperatures that would destroy iron, but the rest of the system still heats up: pads, fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels all absorb soak heat during repeated hard stops. For track days, long descents, and sustained hard driving, run brake cooling and high-temperature fluid.

FAQ
Does this fit both my RS4 and a friend's B7 S4, or are they different kits?
They are different kits because the factory rotor sizes differ. The RS4 (B7) runs 365mm or 380mm carbon-ceramic front rotors with 324mm rears, while the S4 (B7) uses 345mm front and 300mm rear. You must order the exact front rotor diameter your car left the factory with so the disc, hat, and floating hardware clock correctly into your existing calipers. Confirm your front size before checkout — a 380mm RS4 kit will not seat on a 365mm setup.
Will my stock calipers work, or do I need new ones?
This is a direct replacement that reuses your factory front and rear calipers. That only holds true because the B7 RS4/S4 runs a 4-piston or larger front caliper, which is the minimum this kit requires. You bolt the carbon-ceramic rotors, hats, and floating hardware to the existing calipers and install the supplied pads. The rear is unrestricted. No caliper swap, no relocation brackets.
How will these behave on cold winter mornings in a quattro daily driver?
Honest physics: a cold carbon-ceramic disc bites a little less than cold iron on the very first stops — that's normal, not a defect. StopFlex tuned both the pad compound and the disc's ceramic coating specifically for cold starts, so on a B7 RS4/S4 the first-stop feel now sits very close to summer feel once you're moving. On the coldest mornings, leave a little extra following distance for the first stop or two, then the system is right where you expect it.
Is this worth it over steel on a car I actually track?
The B7's high-revving 4.2 V8 and quattro weight load the brakes hard on repeated stops, and that's exactly where carbon ceramic pays off.
