The front runs the Akebono OEM Audi S 6-Piston (8N) Caliper, a genuine Audi S monobloc unit with six pistons clamping the 380mm carbon-ceramic rotor. Its OE provenance means consistent pedal feel and staggered piston sizing that matches pad wear across the pad face.

Rear Caliper

The rear uses the TTSPORT EP4 4-Piston Forged Caliper with a dedicated EPB actuator piston, so your factory electronic parking brake keeps working while you gain real rear-axle thermal capacity. It has four 28mm hydraulic service pistons plus one 27mm EPB piston, a two-piece forged-aluminum body around 4.50 kg per caliper, and heat-insulated two-piece pistons; the EP4 is the more compact sibling of the EP4S, chosen here to match your rear rotor and wheel clearance.

Heat Management Note

Ceramic discs shrug off surface temperatures that would destroy iron, but the rest of the system still heats up: pads, fluid, seals, calipers, and wheels all absorb soak heat during repeated hard stops. For track days, long descents, and sustained hard driving, run brake cooling and high-temperature fluid.

The RS Q3 uses different front knuckles, hub geometry, and wheel offset than a standard Q3, so brackets, rotor-hat offsets, and caliper mounting are cut for the exact car you tell us. We do not make a platform-wide bolt-on claim; we confirm your VIN and trim first, then machine the hats and brackets to match.

What wheels do I need to clear the 380mm rotors?

The front carbon-ceramic rotor is 380mm, which requires a minimum 19-inch wheel. Diameter alone is not enough—spoke design and inner barrel clearance matter around the Akebono 6-piston caliper, so we check your specific wheel fitment before shipping. Most factory RS Q3 wheels clear it, but we verify rather than assume.

How do these brakes behave in winter and on cold starts?

An untuned cold carbon-ceramic disc bites a little less than cold iron on the first stops—that is normal physics, not a fault. We have tuned both the pad compound and the disc ceramic coating for cold operation, so cold-car braking feel now comes very close to warm summer feel. On the coldest first stops of the day, leave a little extra following distance until the system takes its first bite, and it settles in quickly.

Do I lose my electronic parking brake with the rear upgrade?

No. The F3 Q3 and RS Q3 use a factory electromechanical parking brake, and the TTSPORT EP4 rear caliper has a dedicated EPB actuator piston separate from its four hydraulic pistons. Your OE parking-brake button, auto-hold, and hill-start functions all keep working after the swap.
