Alphard AH40: Different Jobs at Each Axle

STOPFLEX describes its ceramic friction surface as one that does not flash-rust after rain, washing or parking. With the Alphard's open silver wheel design, that rotor face remains visible. For a road-car owner who wants to avoid an orange rust film behind the spokes, this surface characteristic is a practical reason to consider carbon ceramic material.

The tradeoff is that a change of friction material still needs a matched pad compound. Keeping the rear caliper does not establish pad compatibility.
