GLB 35 Brake Configuration
Both axles use 380mm STOPFLEX carbon ceramic rotors on this Mercedes-AMG GLB 35. The caliper arrangements differ front to rear, and the rear configuration includes electronic parking-brake hardware. The photos show the brakes behind the wheels and the complete vehicle.
- Front: AMG 6-piston calipers with STOPFLEX 380mm carbon ceramic rotors.
- Rear: AMG 4-piston calipers plus EPB with STOPFLEX 380mm carbon ceramic rotors.
STOPFLEX selects carbon-silicon-carbide friction material for high-temperature stability and fade resistance. For a GLB owner considering repeated braking on long descents or higher-duty driving, that is the material property worth discussing. This build pairs the material at both axles with AMG 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers; it is a complete configuration to evaluate, rather than a rotor diameter to buy in isolation.
The practical trade-off is where the heat goes next. Heat still reaches pads, fluid, seals and calipers even when the rotor material has thermal capacity in reserve. STOPFLEX recommends suitable fluid and cooling for sustained hard use. Spending on the ceramic discs should therefore leave room for the supporting system, with the rear electronic parking-brake arrangement included from the outset.
Specify This 380mm Build Separately
The related GLB AMG 6-piston kit lists 390mm fronts and TTSPORT EP4/380mm rears; this case has 380mm fronts and AMG 4-piston rears plus EPB, requiring a separately confirmed configuration.
