Xiaomi SU7 Carbon Ceramic Brakes Upgrade

Xiaomi SU7 Max with STOPFLEX 8-piston front calipers and 405mm carbon ceramic rotors tucked inside a 20-inch wheel

The build: calipers, rotors, and fitment

Item Featured SU7 Max setup
Vehicle Xiaomi SU7 Max
Front STOPFLEX 8-piston calipers + 405mm carbon ceramic rotors
Rear STOPFLEX 4-piston calipers + 380mm carbon ceramic rotors
Pads STOPFLEX low-dust ceramic compound
Weight change About 26 kg lighter total
Wheel fitment Clears 20-inch wheels on this build
Scope Front and rear big brake kit conversion

Read this before ordering: this is a custom big brake kit that replaces the calipers, not a rotor-only swap. Front goes to STOPFLEX 8-piston fixed calipers, rear to 4-piston. If you want to keep your factory Xiaomi calipers and change rotors only, that's a different fitment path, so confirm it with us first.

Why carbon ceramic suits the SU7 Max

STOPFLEX feature Why it matters on the SU7 Max What you notice
405mm front rotor + 8-piston caliper A big, quick EV throws most of its weight forward under braking. More diameter and more pistons mean more leverage and more even pad pressure on the axle doing the work. Firmer pedal that holds up when you brake hard repeatedly instead of going long on you.
Carbon ceramic rotor (no rust) The SU7 leans on regen, so the friction brakes see light use and iron rotors tend to surface-rust between drives. No orange rust ring through the wheels, and a clean first stop after the car sits.
Long-fiber CCB construction, ~half the weight of steel Rotors are unsprung and rotating mass. Cutting roughly 26kg at the corners lightens the parts the suspension has to control. Crisper turn-in and a less heavy feel in quick direction changes.
Low-dust ceramic pads Performance pads usually coat the wheels in dust; that's a daily-driver annoyance on a car people keep clean. Wheels stay far cleaner between washes.
Heat tolerance + long street life Repeated highway-speed stops build heat fast on a heavy car; you want friction that stays stable, not fading. Consistent bite on a long descent, plus street life that can reach roughly 250,000–300,000 km off-track.

What gets better

  • More thermal headroom and a firmer pedal under repeated hard braking
  • No rotor rust after rain or sitting, even with heavy regen use
  • About 26kg off the corners for sharper turn-in and lighter response
  • Very low brake dust with STOPFLEX pads, so wheels stay clean
  • Normal cold bite and long street lifespan for daily use

What to confirm first

  • Your exact car is an SU7 Max, since this build is spec'd around it
  • Wheel size and clearance; this setup is shown clearing 20-inch wheels
  • Caliper strategy: this is a full BBK conversion, not factory-caliper retention
  • That you want both axles done, front and rear

If you're not sure your car matches the spec shown here, send us your details and we'll confirm Xiaomi SU7 Max fitment before you order through our Xiaomi CCB collection.

SU7 Max brake upgrade FAQ

Why run an 8-piston front caliper on the SU7 Max?

The SU7 Max is heavy and very quick, so the front axle does most of the braking work. An 8-piston caliper spreads clamping force evenly across a larger pad, and pairing it with a 405mm carbon ceramic rotor adds the thermal headroom you want when you brake hard more than once.

Does this build keep the factory Xiaomi calipers?

No. This featured setup is a full big brake kit conversion using STOPFLEX 8-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. If you'd rather keep your factory calipers and only change rotors, ask us to confirm a separate fitment path before you order.

Will carbon ceramic brakes work fine on a daily-driven SU7?

Yes. With STOPFLEX pads, cold bite stays normal, dust stays very low, and the rotors don't rust after rain or sitting. Street lifespan can reach roughly 250,000 to 300,000 km when the car isn't tracked, so it suits daily driving as much as spirited driving.

How does the ~26kg weight loss help?

Carbon ceramic rotors weigh about half what a same-size steel rotor does. Taking roughly 26kg off the corners cuts unsprung and rotating mass, which sharpens turn-in and ride response and can ease the load on suspension and bearings.

Do STOPFLEX carbon ceramic rotors rust?

No. They don't rust, even after rain. On an EV like the SU7 that leans on regen and uses the friction brakes lightly, that prevents the orange surface rust and rough first-stop feel iron rotors get when they sit.
