Read this before you buy

This is a custom front conversion built around SLS AMG 6-piston calipers and 400mm STOPFLEX rotors, not a bolt-on rotor swap onto your stock C63 calipers. With that caliper body and a 400mm disc, plan on 20-inch wheels and confirm barrel and spoke clearance for your exact wheel before you order.

What changes on a W205 C63, and what to check

STOPFLEX feature Why it matters on a W205 C63 What you notice
Carbon ceramic rotor, ~half the weight of steel The C63 is nose-heavy and steers off the front axle; rotors are unsprung weight the suspension has to control Front end settles quicker over bumps and turn-in feels a touch sharper
Holds ~0.3μ friction at 900°C A hard-driven twin-turbo V8 dumps a lot of heat into the front brakes fast Pedal stays firmer through back-to-back hard stops instead of going long
Low dust with STOPFLEX pads Open multi-spoke AMG wheels show every bit of iron dust Wheels stay clean far longer between washes
Rotor faces don't rust Iron rotors flash-rust after rain and leave rings visible through the spokes No orange rust film staring back at you after a wet week
Long-fiber CCB construction Repeated heat cycling is what kills cheaper rotors over time Built to stay a long-term street rotor, not a cosmetic one
~250,000-300,000 km street life This is a keeper-car upgrade, not a consumable You're not budgeting for rotor replacement every few seasons

What gets better

  • Lower unsprung weight up front, so the suspension reacts quicker
  • Firmer, more repeatable pedal during back-to-back hard stops
  • Far less brake dust on the 20-inch AMG wheels
  • No rust rings on the rotor face after wet weather
  • Normal first-stop bite even in cold weather
  • Crackle-finish ceramic coating that stays sharp behind open spokes

What to confirm first

  • This is a front-axle OEM+ conversion, not a stock caliper rotor swap
  • Your wheels need to clear the SLS caliper body and 400mm rotor, usually 20-inch
  • Aftermarket forged wheels with thin spokes need a clearance check against the caliper
  • Verify your current caliper, hub, and bracket setup before sourcing parts
  • Pick the right STOPFLEX pad and bed it for how you actually drive the car

If you're not sure your car matches the spec shown here, send us your wheel and caliper details and we'll confirm W205 C63 AMG fitment before you order through our Mercedes-Benz CCB collection.

C63 AMG (W205) CCB questions

Why does this C63 AMG (W205) build use SLS AMG calipers?

It's an OEM+ front big brake conversion. Genuine SLS AMG 6-piston calipers are sized to clamp the larger 400mm STOPFLEX carbon ceramic front rotor, which gives the W205 C63 a more substantial front brake package than the factory setup.

Can I run this front brake upgrade on a daily-driven C63?

Yes, as long as the car is set up correctly. On the street you get lower unsprung weight, much cleaner wheels when paired with STOPFLEX pads, rotor faces that don't rust after rain, and steadier pedal feel under repeated stops.

Will this 400mm setup clear 19-inch wheels?

Usually not. The 400mm rotor and the larger SLS AMG caliper body typically need 20-inch wheel clearance. Always confirm barrel and spoke clearance for your exact wheels before you order.

How long do STOPFLEX carbon ceramic rotors last on the street?

In normal street use, away from regular track days, STOPFLEX carbon ceramic rotors can reach roughly 250,000 to 300,000 km. Real-world life depends on how you drive, your pad choice, and heat load.

How is this different from a standard iron front brake setup?

The big change is the move to a much lighter carbon ceramic rotor. STOPFLEX rotors weigh about half a same-size steel rotor, don't rust after rain, and hold up better under repeated heat than iron brakes that have soaked up too much temperature.
