Confirm before you order

This package is built for the Audi RS3 (8Y) with the factory 6-piston fixed front calipers. It's not a fit for standard A3 hardware. Check the 380 mm rotor against your exact wheel design before ordering, especially on aftermarket wheels.

What the Upgrade Actually Changes

STOPFLEX feature Why it matters on the RS3 8Y What you notice
380x38mm carbon ceramic rotor, ~half the iron weight The RS3 is nose-heavy and runs a turbocharged five up front, so rotor mass sits right where the car is already loaded. Lighter steering response and cleaner turn-in, since you've pulled weight off the front wheels.
Wide heat tolerance, ~0.3u surface friction at 900C Repeated hard stops and back-road pace load the front brakes fast; iron starts feeling soft once it heat-soaks. A pedal that stays firm and predictable deeper into a hard drive instead of going long.
STOPFLEX pads, >0.4u at normal temps You still spend most of your miles in traffic, so cold and warm bite have to be there too. Strong, easy-to-modulate braking from the first stop, including cold mornings around -20C.
Very low dust, no-rust rotor faces Open RS3 wheels show every bit of iron dust, and stock rotors surface-rust after a wash. Wheels that stay clean longer and rotor faces that don't bloom orange after rain.

What gets better

  • Less unsprung and front-axle weight than the iron setup
  • More consistent pedal under repeated heat
  • Much lower brake dust with STOPFLEX pads
  • Rotor faces that don't rust after rain or washing
  • Normal cold bite and long street life, roughly 250,000-300,000 km off-track

What to confirm first

  • Your car is an RS3 (8Y) with the factory 6-piston front calipers
  • Wheel clearance against the 380 mm rotor on your exact wheel design
  • This is a front-axle rotor upgrade, not a full big brake kit
  • If you run regular track days, talk wear expectations before buying

If you're not sure your car matches the spec shown here, send us your wheel and caliper details and we'll confirm Audi RS3 (8Y) fitment before you order through our Audi CCB collection.

RS3 Carbon Ceramic FAQ

Can I keep the factory RS3 6-piston calipers with this upgrade?

Yes. This is built around the Audi RS3 (8Y) factory 6-piston fixed front calipers. You keep the OEM calipers and swap the stock iron front rotors for STOPFLEX 380x38mm carbon ceramic discs.

Is a carbon ceramic setup still comfortable in daily traffic?

Yes. Paired with STOPFLEX pads, normal-temperature friction can exceed 0.4u, so you get firm, predictable pedal feel in everyday driving. Cold-temperature braking stays normal on the first stop even around -20C.

Will this cut the brake dust on my wheels?

Yes. With STOPFLEX pads, dust output is very low compared with typical performance iron setups, and the rotors do not rust after washing or rain, so the wheels and rotor faces stay clean.

Do the 380mm rotors clear the factory RS3 wheels?

This is a direct-fit 380x38mm front rotor package for the Audi RS3 (8Y) using the factory 6-piston caliper layout. Confirm clearance against your exact wheel design before ordering, especially with aftermarket or non-factory wheels.

How long do STOPFLEX carbon ceramic rotors last on the street?

For normal street use and non-track driving, STOPFLEX carbon ceramic rotors can reach about 250,000 to 300,000 km. Actual life depends on driving style, pad choice, and heat exposure.
