ترقية مكابح كاربون سيراميك لسيارة تسلا موديل 3 بيرفورمانس

Tesla Model 3 Performance front axle fitted with a STOPFLEX 380x34mm carbon ceramic brake rotor on the factory caliper.

Why this upgrade exists

A Model 3 Performance is heavy for its footprint — battery pack, dual motors, and a curb weight that clears 4,000 lbs before a passenger gets in. Tesla leans on regenerative braking to keep the friction system cool and lightly used in normal driving, and it works well right up until you push the car hard. Track Mode changes the math: as the pack and motors heat up, regen gets pulled back to protect the drivetrain, and the front calipers inherit a job they almost never do the rest of the year.

The pattern we see on this platform is consistent. Someone runs a few hot laps, a canyon road, or a string of repeated stops, and the pedal starts going long on the fourth or fifth hit as the factory iron rotor soaks heat it isn't sized to shed fast enough. It's the same imbalance we walked through on a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra carbon ceramic build — big, fast EVs that spend most of their life on regen and then need real friction-brake capacity all at once.

What wasn't working

  • Iron front rotors soak heat fast once regen backs off in Track Mode
  • Brake dust building up on wheel spokes the car doesn't usually get dirty
  • Rotor faces flash-rusting after rain, since regen does most of the daily work
  • Extra unsprung mass at a front axle already carrying battery weight

What owners want instead

  • A pedal that holds its travel through repeated hard stops, not just the first one
  • Less unsprung weight so the front end reacts as fast as the drivetrain does
  • A rotor that doesn't need babying between wash days
  • A fix that leaves Tesla's calipers, software, and one-pedal feel completely alone

Why carbon ceramic brakes fit this car

The front axle already carries most of a Model 3 Performance's braking load before regen dynamics even enter the picture. Once Track Mode pulls regen back, that load lands entirely on the friction brakes, and it lands as heat, all at once, at the corner that's already doing the most work. A rotor that manages that heat without piling more mass onto the front hub is the direct answer, not a nice-to-have.

STOPFLEX feature Why it matters on the Model 3 Performance What you notice
Continuous long-fiber CCB carbon ceramic construction Long fiber strands carry load across the whole disc body, which matters when the friction brakes take a sudden, full-load handoff from regen A rotor built to absorb repeated heat cycles instead of one hard hit
Holds roughly 0.3μ surface friction at 900°C Track Mode's regen taper is exactly the moment rotor temperatures spike hardest Consistent bite when the rotor is genuinely hot, not just on stop one
Over 0.4μ average friction with STOPFLEX pads at normal temps Cold mornings are also when regen output is weaker, so the friction brakes work harder from a cold rotor Normal first-stop bite with no warm-up ritual before it feels right
About half the weight of a same-size steel rotor The front axle of a battery-heavy EV is already carrying more mass than a comparable gas car Quicker turn-in and less unsprung load for the suspension to control
Rust-free surface, low dust with STOPFLEX pads A car that leans on regen daily gives its friction brakes very little exercise between uses Clean wheel faces, no orange rust ring after rain or a wash

What gets better

  • More thermal reserve exactly when Track Mode shifts braking load to the friction system
  • A firmer, more consistent pedal through repeated high-speed stops
  • Lower unsprung mass at the front for sharper turn-in
  • No rotor rust after rain and very little dust with matched pads

What to confirm first

  • Your car is a Model 3 Performance with the factory front 4-piston caliper
  • Wheels are OEM 19-inch or 20-inch Uberturbine, or clear the 380 × 34 mm rotor
  • This is a front-axle rotor upgrade, not a four-corner conversion
  • You're pairing the rotors with STOPFLEX carbon ceramic pads for the dust and friction figures above

One carbon ceramic rotor set is also engineered to outlast several sets of iron replacement rotors over normal street use, which is worth weighing against the upfront cost — our carbon ceramic brakes price guide breaks that trade-off down further, and our rotor lifespan guide covers service life in more detail. If you're not sure your car matches the spec shown here, send us your details and we'll confirm Model 3 Performance fitment before you order through our carbon ceramic brake disc kit collection.

Fitment & installation

We ask for three photos before quoting a Model 3 Performance: the caliper straight-on, the knuckle where the caliper bracket bolts up, and the wheel face with the spokes visible. That's usually enough to confirm the rotor clears everything without a guess.

The detail that trips up a generic kit is hat offset. Because this is a rotor-only upgrade, the factory caliper stays exactly where Tesla put it, so the new disc has to land the friction ring in the same plane the OEM disc did — a couple of millimeters off and the pads contact unevenly no matter how good the material is. We build the offset to match the factory disc rather than guessing, and the bracket is machined to the Model 3 Performance's own knuckle so it bolts on with no cutting or drilling.

The install itself follows a normal sequence: caliper comes off, the old rotor comes off the hub, the STOPFLEX disc goes on, the caliper gets torqued back to spec, and the new pads get bedded in gradually before you lean on them hard. We'd rather confirm your wheel's spoke profile twice than ship a rotor that rubs the first time you turn the wheel to full lock.

  • Vehicle and trim: confirm Model 3 Performance
  • Wheel diameter and spoke profile, OEM or aftermarket
  • Confirmation that the factory front 4-piston caliper is still fitted
  • Axle scope: front-only or full conversion
  • How the car is actually used — daily commuting, occasional Track Mode, or regular track days

Send those details through our fitment request page and we'll confirm before anything ships.

Bed the pads in gently over the first few stops rather than diving into a hard Track Mode session on day one. Build heat gradually for the first several miles so the pad transfer layer forms evenly across the new rotor face.

What changes after the upgrade

We don't have an instrumented before-and-after for this build, and you should be skeptical of anyone who quotes exact stopping distances without a test sheet. What follows is the honest, qualitative picture of what this pairing is built to do.

Situation إعداد المصنع After the STOPFLEX upgrade
Repeated hard stops as Track Mode regen tapers Pedal starts going long by the fourth or fifth stop Pedal travel and bite stay consistent through the same sequence
Cold morning first stop Regen is already reduced when cold, and the iron rotor bites hard until it warms Rotor and pad compound tuned for normal cold bite, no extra ritual needed
Wheel cleanliness after a week of regen-heavy driving Dust visible on the spokes, rotor can flash-rust after rain Wheel face stays clean, no rust ring behind the spokes
استجابة التوجيه على الرصيف المتهالك Extra rotating mass at a hub already carrying battery weight Lighter rotor reduces unsprung mass, front end reacts a touch quicker
كبح من سرعة إبحار عالية More heat generated fast, iron rotor already warm from daily driving More thermal reserve before bite starts to fade

This is a front-axle rotor swap on top of calipers Tesla already engineered well — it changes what happens once regen steps back, not how the car drives day to day. If you rarely use Track Mode and never see the friction brakes work hard, the factory rotors are probably fine, and this upgrade is solving a problem you don't have yet.

الأسئلة الشائعة

Why would a Tesla Model 3 Performance need better brakes if regen does most of the stopping?

Regen handles a large share of daily slowing, which is exactly why the factory brakes feel underused most of the time. In Track Mode, Tesla pulls regen back as the battery and motors heat up, and the front calipers suddenly have to absorb the load regen was covering. That shift is where a heavy, fast EV can overwhelm iron front rotors, and it's the gap a carbon ceramic front rotor is built to close.

Does a carbon ceramic rotor upgrade change one-pedal driving or regen behavior?

No. This is a mechanical rotor swap at the front axle only. Tesla's software, regen calibration, and one-pedal feel are untouched. The car drives identically day to day; the difference only shows up when the friction brakes are actually asked to do the work.

Is a front-only carbon ceramic upgrade enough, or do I need all four corners?

For most Model 3 Performance owners, front-only is the right call. The front axle carries the majority of the braking load and sees heat first, so that's where fade shows up when regen tapers. A front upgrade targets that load directly without committing to a full four-corner conversion.

Will 380x34mm carbon ceramic rotors fit my factory calipers and OEM wheels?

This rotor is built for the Model 3 Performance's factory front 4-piston caliper and installs as a direct 380x34mm replacement. It's confirmed against the OEM 19-inch and 20-inch Uberturbine wheels. If you're running aftermarket wheels or calipers, confirm clearance with us before ordering.

What does carbon ceramic actually do for daily EV driving, not just track days?

It doesn't flash-rust after rain or a wash, and paired with STOPFLEX pads it sheds very little dust, so wheel faces stay clean between cleanings. It's also roughly half the weight of a same-size steel rotor, which matters on a front axle that's already carrying battery mass.
