About the Pad

StopFlex CCB-Optimized Brake Pads (Street + Track)

Two compounds engineered for C/SiC carbon-ceramic discs. Pick Street for daily + fast-road consistency, or Track for hotter duty cycles and repeated high-energy stops.

What you get (no fluff):

  • Repeatable bite: stable transfer behavior so pedal feel doesn’t “move around” as temps change.
  • Rotor-friendly intent: designed to treat CCB as a long-life component, not a consumable.
  • Strong modulation: easier to trail-brake and hold the tire at the limit.
  • Two clear choices: comfort/cleanliness vs. hotter-session stability.

Note: real-world results still depend on bedding, airflow/ducting, vehicle mass, tire grip, and caliper pressure.

Fitment confirmation (simple):

  • Year / Make / Model / Wheel Size (VIN helps)

We’ll confirm the pad shape against your calipers. If your setup is aftermarket, a quick caliper photo usually resolves it.

Choose Your Compound

Street CCB Brake Pad

For: daily driving, fast road use, short aggressive bursts.

  • Avg. friction (μ): ~0.44 (lab reference)
  • Thermal capability: up to ~750°C (≈1380°F)
  • Behavior: predictable cold response, lower NVH focus
  • Goal: stable transfer layer + long-term surface care
Track CCB Brake Pad

For: track days, time attack, sprint sessions with repeated high-energy stops.

  • Avg. friction (μ): ~0.45 (lab reference)
  • Thermal capability: up to ~750°C (≈1380°F)
  • Behavior: more noise/dust is normal until warm
  • Goal: friction stability as heat load ramps

μ values are compound targets measured under lab conditions; on-car μ is system-dependent (disc surface, pressure, speed, temp, cooling).

Street vs. Track (Quick Decision Table)

What matters Street CCB Pad Track CCB Pad
Duty cycle Daily + fast-road, short heat cycles Repeated high-energy stops, hotter sessions
Friction target (μ) ~0.44 ~0.45
NVH / dust Lower, street-friendly Higher is expected when chasing heat stability
Cold behavior Optimized for predictable street bite Safe from cold; best when warm
Best “feel” Linear, easy in traffic and wet weather More consistent deep into the braking zone

Item What it is Why it matters
StopFlex Street CCB Brake Pad
or
StopFlex Track CCB Brake Pad
CCB-optimized friction material matched to carbon-ceramic surfaces. Builds a more stable transfer layer and keeps braking predictable across temperature swings.
Compound-specific bed-in guide Simple bedding procedure for your chosen compound. Correct bedding is what makes the pad “feel right” and stabilizes wear.

Technical Notes

Designed for C/SiC carbon-ceramic brake discs (StopFlex and most OEM-style CCB systems).
Material type Low-metallic resin-bonded friction material (compound-specific tuning).
Thermal reference Up to ~750°C (≈1380°F) lab reference (system cooling and duty cycle define real limits).
Important system note On long sessions, pads and fluid are often the limiting factor without proper airflow/ducting.

We prefer “correct compound + correct bed-in + correct cooling” over generic performance claims.

FAQ

Can I use these pads on iron or steel rotors?

In theory: yes. The car will stop. But these compounds are optimized for carbon-ceramic surfaces, so on iron/steel you should expect faster pad wear (often much faster), and braking behavior can be less predictable (noise/transfer feel). If you run iron/steel rotors full-time, use a pad formulated specifically for iron/steel for better life and consistency.

Can I run my iron-rotor “track pads” on carbon-ceramic discs?

Not recommended. Many iron-focused compounds (especially higher-metallic mixes) can be too abrasive for carbon-ceramic surfaces, causing unstable friction layers and unnecessary surface damage. Match pad chemistry to the disc.

How do I pick Street vs. Track?

If this car sees daily driving and short heat cycles, pick Street. If you do repeated high-energy stops (track/time attack) and accept more NVH, pick Track.

Is there a bed-in procedure?

Yes. Proper bedding builds a uniform transfer layer. We include a compound-specific guide (moderate stops, then cool-down—avoid long pedal holds while hot).

Will the Track compound work from cold on the street?

It’s safe from cold, but it can be noisier and less refined at low temps. If daily comfort matters, Street is usually the better choice.
